Click here to return to overall standings Clapham Win LWL 2004/05Clapham wrapped up their 4th straight title in the London Winter League, taking down their second team in a hard-fought semi-final (9-7) to remain unbeaten over the winter season. Icy Dykes made their second final in their second appearance in this year's League, but again fell a bit short of upsetting the National Champions. Strong performances again by Haze, Discuits, LTD Release and Brighton saw them secure top-5 spots in the overall rankings. Division 2 winners Pond Life sneaked 9th place in the overall rankings despite never progressing from the second division. A top-10 finish was good reward for their consistency over all four events, and maybe they'll make the breakthrough next time around. EMO, Fever and Plastic Factory all paid the price in the final rankings for not competing in every event, but all went home with victories in Division1. Junior team 6ffu won their second division 3 event, showing great potential for the future. Also good for the growth of the sport (one of the aims of the LWL) was both Brighton and Discuits consistently entering two teams, sometimes three when numbers allowed. We'll have to wait and see if the hard work those teams have put in over the winter will pay dividends on the Open Tour. Speaking of the 2005 Open Tour, the whole of the British (sorry, UK) Ultimate community is undoubtedly waiting for the "voice of British ultimate" Tom Styles to make his predictions on how this season is going to pan out. For those who prefer to form their own views, the Charity Shield on Saturday 12 March will give a decent idea of how the front-runners are looking. Good luck to the LWL teams that are competing, we hear something about a party afterwards? Download Matchday4 results as a PDF or EXCEL file
