With only a couple of games remaining, the tables are starting to take shape, but nothing's totally clear yet. In Division C, all eyes are on the final game between Choke Hazard and OvaThrow - both with a perfect record so far, something's going to break. In the middle division, it's a very different story with every team having lost at least two of their three matches! Five teams level on games played, and I gave up trying to work out the goal difference at that point... With only Jam mathemtically out of it, this is definitely going to the final week. Up in the top division Herd have been knocked from the top, courtesy of not having submitted their scores for the last two weeks. Curve can Lord it over London until the Herd get their act together. Having been promoted from the middle division they've given their all to show that promotion wasn't a fluke, losing to Herd by only a couple of points and beating Galahs and Flump by a point. Herd look comfortable for top, but expect to see Curve making a strong bid for second by the end of the season. 20th July We're half way through the league already and it's starting to become a bit clearer who'll be challenging for the metaphorical silverware - up at the top, Herd are bookending the table - with the first team top and Cocktail propping up the stragglers. Curve, Galahs and Lucky 7s are all there to make the Herd pay though, should they slip up in any way. In the middle league things are much tighter with the third Herd team (aka Darth Herd) and Galahs 2 challenging for the top. All the other teams look evenly balanced though, so nothing can be taken for granted here. In division C, Choke Hazard and Ovathrow are the runaway leaders - both teams are undefeated and their head to head is scheduled for the last week of the season. Should be an interesting one to watch. 20th June The crossovers are over and it's time to begin the league proper, but before that congratulations to Curve, Herd Cocktail, Flaming Galahs 2 and Cowboys who all managed to win promotion. Commiserations to Fugazees in particular who finished level on wins with Revolution, level on goal difference and went out on goals scored. Given the short notice, it's worth emailing your first opponents to confirm that you're expecting to play (or to let them know if you're not!). These first two weeks are crossover games, so it's vitally important that they get played promptly, since we can't organise the rest of the league until they're sorted. We know it's short notice. All we can ask is that you try your hardest to get your team out. Captains will be receiving contact details asap - probably Monday next week. If you're in doubt about getting your team together for a game before receiving that list, then contact Dan Berry or Ken Ferguson (captains should have their email addresses) and they'll put you in contact with your opposite number. A PDF of the score sheet is here 28th May Summer League is about to get under way. We've already got most of the spaces filled and expect to see the first games take place in early June. If you're interested in taking part then details are on the forum but hurry! We've already got some old friends signed up (PAF, Fugazees, ABH, Stacks and Switches, Curve, Flump, Cowboys) along with a few new names. Games will take place in the same locations as last year, Clissold Park and Tooting Bec Common - see the map page for more details. 23rd May OK - Summer League is happening this year.
