Registration

Registration has closed for the first two events of 05/06.

Individual players looking to join a team may still be able to do so, either by posting a message to the LondonLeague mailing list, or by contacting teams directly. Joining a team mid-league is fine (there are no rostering rules): some teams may already be full and therefore not taking on extra players, but others are definitely on the look out for pickups. You can only ask.

If you are interested in playing in the remaining three events please let me know (ken2@uk2.net).

Competition format

The London Indoor League is based around 5 one-day events which take place once a month throughout the Winter. Points are tallied after 5 events and these scores used to decide the overall rankings.

Exact tournament schedules will be prepared closer to each event. The default format is for three divisions (Premiership, Championship and Division One). At each event all teams play the others in their division. After each event points are awarded according to finishing position and the bottom and top teams from the Premiership and Championship and Championship and Division One trade positions for the next event.

Captain's information

General
  • Please ensure you have a full team ready to play at the start of your game. Remember - it's not just your money that's wasted if you turn up late. Ideally you should have at least seven players due to turn up, in case one or two go AWOL. Being late is bad spirit.
  • Each member of the team should bring a white and a dark top
  • Please don’t stand, or leave your belongings, at the pitch side unless you’re actually playing – there’s a balcony just above and lockers in the changing room at the other side of the pitches
  • If you’re going to do calls, please don’t do ones that are likely to annoy the staff – it was hard getting a hall, so I don’t want to have to find somewhere else. Be fun, but be sensible :)
Games
  • Each game slot is twenty minutes
  • First two minutes is a warm up period, next eighteen minutes is the game
  • Games start and end on the whistle. If the disc isn't in your hand when the whistle starts you haven't scored.
  • Games to 13. No half time.
  • No timeouts
  • Draws are allowed, so please keep scores accurately – they may be important to work out the league positions.
  • Please ensure that you are on the line and ready to receive/pull within 30 seconds of the game start whistle
  • Please vacate the pitch immediately after your game.
  • Usual Indoors stall count of 8
The Pull Rule
  • A pull can only be bricked if it is more than 2 metres high when it leaves the pitch.
  • A dropped pull is not a turnover, but an attempt must be made to catch the pull.
  • The disc must be in 'clean flight' (ie catchable even if a knife) when within 2 metres of the opposition end zone or the brick rule comes into play.
  • Brick at about one third of the pitch
