This was by far the best game of hazard's summer league so far and it was a perfect end to the season, and just how a final should be.
It was really anyone's game from start to finish.
Choke Hazard were nervous at first and had to play the first point with 1 girl and 5 guys leaving us a player down. Needless to say ovathrow took it, turning us over and getting a quick point, and we were staring a disappointing final game in the face if our girls didn't turn up soon.
the second point was mammoth, but luckily our second girl had arrived just in time for it so at least we had 7 on the pitch. during this point our third girl arrived and we were finally in a position we were comfortable with.
With a full squad we traded points, both teams taking a 2 point lead at different times but hazard clinched the half 8-6
we came out blazing in the second half and in an incredible show accelerated away to take a mammoth 11-7 lead. There was no time for us to rest on our laurels though, Ovathrow had had a few unlucky drops in the endzone and we were far too aware that the score could easily have been very different. and, in fact the score did become very different. with a mixture of great D, some brilliant long discs and some excellent work through their girls, ovathrow brought the score back to 14-13. It was a huge comeback with ovathrow scoring 4 or 5 points in a row and leaving hazard very nervous indeed.
In the end though we were able (finally!) to take the point that we needed to win the game and the division.

Hats off to ovathrow though, even with a 4 point lead we knew we weren't safe and they were incredibly spirited from start to finish.
hopefully we'll both win our crossovers and get to play each other again!
